This Fraudster Figured Out How To Defeat The Bank’s Facial Recognition With A Cut Out Dummy!
To avoid facial recognition and apply for loans on mobile banking applications, a fraudster “taped photos of his victims’ faces onto a DUMMY,” according to police.
In Brazil, a 34-year-old fraudster/robber was apprehended for obtaining false bank loans. The So Paulo Civil Police reported that the 34-year-old suspect was able to circumvent the facial recognition login feature of the mobile banking app by using the photos of the account holders to carry out the scam.
Police captured footage of the operation, which demonstrates how the suspect was able to put one of the photos on the dummy and pull off the scam undetected. The suspect fraudster circumvented the bank’s mobile app facial recognition sign-in feature by attaching photographs of the victims’ faces to a cardboard dummy.
According to Brazilian news site Metropoles, authorities detained the man on Friday at his residence in the municipality of Barueri and seized a collection of pictures of the victims who were the target as well as ammo for a 9mm gun.
